KELLI BRUNO
PIANO | VOCALS | GUITAR
Kelli Bruno is a dynamic performer, songwriter, and music educator from Cranford, NJ. She is a seasoned vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who regularly performs at venues around the tristate area.
After earning BA degrees in Music & Film from Bucknell University, Kelli began teaching piano and voice lessons at The Institute of Music for Children in Elizabeth, NJ while spending her free time learning cover repertoire and honing her songwriting chops. In 2015 she moved to New York City to begin working with the national non profit Musicians On Call, where she proudly served as their Senior Program Manager for almost 9 years. By day, Kelli trained and scheduled volunteers to play at the bedsides of hospital patients. By night, Kelli tore up the NYC music scene playing original gigs at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and The Delancey.
In 2018, Kelli released her first album Nomahegan. “Nomahegan” is a picturesque park in her hometown of Cranford and little Kelli was lucky enough to live right across the street from this beautiful place which inspired a lifelong appreciation for nature - and playing guitar on the porch!
Since the release of her first album, Kelli has continued teaching private lessons in piano, guitar and ukulele, and has completed songwriting workshops with Thinking Outside the Blocks, led by Bess Rogers and Lakehouse teaching alum Allie Moss. In November of 2022 Kelli released her second album, Company. The album is a folk-pop journey of three-part harmonies and rich acoustic instrumentation. She is currently gearing up to release two singles in early 2024.
After witnessing the effects of live music in healthcare settings and seeing how music education shapes students for the better, Kelli is a lifelong believer in the power of music and she is thrilled to be joining the Lakehouse team!
