Jennifer Donato

PIANO

Jen Donato is a piano, guitar, songwriting, and voice instructor at Lakehouse Music Academy.

Jen’s musical journey began at age six, when her parents signed her up for piano lessons. Although she was reluctant at first, those early lessons ignited a passion for music that has stayed with her ever since.

Jen has spent decades immersed in the music world—teaching private lessons, coaching student bands, mentoring young songwriters, and performing in both original and cover bands. From 2013 to 2019, she co-ran a professional recording studio, where she honed her skills as an audio engineer. Jen is passionate about working with students of all ages, helping them explore their creativity, grow as musicians, and develop a lifelong love for music.

Alongside her music career, Jen earned her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in 1990, where she studied history, education, and dance. In 2020, she completed her master’s degree in social work at Fordham University and now works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in private practice.

Jen is also a proud mother of three talented musicians—two of whom are actively pursuing professional careers as recording artists and producers.
